Person-centred therapy is not about me telling you what to do, many of us can find an abundance of people keen to offer us their advice, opinions, and criticisms. I will not be trying to fix you; you are not broken.
Person centred therapy is about me offering you a therapeutic relationship. A relationship in which you are accepted and valued in all that you bring, a relationship in which I am honest and transparent in how I experience you and your world and a relationship in which I seek to see and understand your feelings and experiences from your perspective.
I will provide a warm and empathic relationship with the space to listen to and empower you to take steps in your own life and overcome difficulties you face. Through this therapeutic relationship I will support you in exploring who you are and how this is shaped by your experiences.
I will providing a safe space for you to share your experiences without fear of judgment. A space where you are free and supported to disclose whatever is troubling you. This type of therapeutic relationship enables you to discover your own abilities and trust in your own autonomy, so that you can handle current and future problems.
Research indicates that the most important element of any counselling experience is the relationship between counsellor and client, that this is more important even than the approach or modality that the counsellor trained in. For this reason, I offer a no obligation free initial 20-minute consultation over zoom as a chance for you to see if working with me feels like it would be a good fit for you, before you decide whether to book in for counselling sessions.

Anything you need to feel more yourself and at ease during your sessions is welcome, don’t worry about maintaining eye contact with me, and stim freely. If there’s anything I can do to make the sessions more accessible, just let me know.
I offer sessions for the full 60 minutes which take place over zoom, you can choose between having a video or voice-only call, whichever feels most comfortable. Sessions take place on a weekly or fortnightly basis according to your preferences. We will work together at your own pace, and I offer short-term or long-term counselling depending on your wishes and needs.

You may have noticed that I use these terms "Counselling" and "psychotherapy" interchangeable. That’s because they are at best loosely defined and there is no precise difference between them. Many people associate "counselling" with shorter-term or less intensive work and "psychotherapy" with experiences that are longer-term and more in-depth. My practice covers both of these, and my MA is in Counselling and Psychotherapy, so I use both terms here.
